Wright Care at Home – May Newsletter

We celebrated our 2nd Birthday…

Since we last wrote we celebrated our 2nd Birthday at Wright Care at Home.

It’s been another amazing year full of new team members, meeting new customers and delivering and taking part in different charity events.

From half marathons, raising plus £2000 for charities such as the Stroke Association, Marie Curie, The MS Society, Cancer research, Alzheimer’s society and many others to carers receiving diplomas in Health and Social Care and to lots of challenges being overcome such as the ‘Beast from the East.’ It’s been a fantastic 12 months.

We didn’t have such a grand event this year due to us being so busy delivering care visits, but we hope to hold one for our 3rd birthday.

However; we had a fantastic tea party in our office and managed to get the whole team together to celebrate and reminisce about the last year.

New Team members…

Our customer base has increased and there is such a high demand in Stamford for our support.

We have always believed in not over stretching our team so to accommodate our ever growing waiting list we have some new team members to help those in need of our Purple ladies.

You will have seen and hopefully met some now. But we welcome Geva, Naomi, Ellyn, Naomi and Jackie to our team.

All these team members have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to delivering care. Ellyn is a mental health student nurse and we are happy to support her journey. Naomi is at university currently training to become an occupational therapist. Jackie has worked in care for many years and is now looking to join us as a bank worker to help the team have those well earnt rest periods. Geva has just returned from maternity leave and is enjoying her role back as a care worker.

The royal wedding welcomes the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex…

I think we will all agree we love a brilliant wedding and what a fantastic one we all got to view on Saturday 19th May. A date to remember.

Prince Harry found himself a Princess. Congratulations Harry and Meghan. We loved her dress and we are sure our customers have seen many Royal events. It’s always great to see the British public come together.

So, we have included some of the official pictures from the wedding… Our Deputy Care Manager gets married in October… It won’t be long till we are sharing her lovely photos.

Long service awards…

Nicola Left, Tania Right, Samy Center

As it was our 2nd Birthday we felt this was the perfect occasion to award our long-standing employees; Tania and Nicola with their 2 years of service award.

In April 2016 there was just four of us in the team, this consisted of Sandra who retired last June, Sarah our now Deputy Care Manager, Tania and Nicola and they are all still with us.

Tania and Nicola are key members of our team and continue to strive in all they do.

Nicola recently obtained her level 3 in health and social care.

They are both great ambassadors for Wright Care at Home and we are truly delighted to present them with this award.

From the Care Manager…

In the last month we turned two years old, so this newsletter features some of our care worker celebrations.

It was lovely to award our two longstanding employees for two years of service.

We welcomed new team members to support our growing customer base and are excited to be growing our management team over the next few months.

From 14th to 20th May we focused on raising awareness of mental health conditions.

This is something most of us will experience in our lifetime and we are focusing on beating the stigma attached to it.

In support of dementia awareness week, we also pledged our teams focus ‘to always be patient.’

We also have had new changes on how we process data with GDPR. Effective from 24th May and you will have seen this in our recent communications. If you wish to opt out of receiving our newsletters, please do contact us.
