Care Team in Stamford raise money for ‘The Stroke Association’ …
Wright Care at Home have set themselves a new challenge, to run 13.2 miles to raise money for ‘The Stroke Association.’
As a Care Provider delivering care in individuals own homes, ‘Wright Care at Home’ Care Manager has set her team a new challenge!
‘I wanted us to do something as a team that will support our customers and those who have experienced a condition that is sadly very common. In March 2017 we had a guest speaker ‘Babs Smith’ who gave her personal experience of what recovering from a stroke feels like. She discussed how acting ‘FAST’ is the key to recovery and what we can do as individuals to be more aware of this. Sadly many of our customers have suffered from a stroke and this may have added difficulties to their daily routines. By us raising money for this charity we will increase the awareness and support of this condition.’
Not only is this a great charity but it is also a great team building event, there are seven of us in total running The ‘Great Easter Run’ located in Peterborough sponsored by ‘Perkins’
This consists of office and care staff, family members of Wright Care at Home and even the Director herself. We are a family company and pride ourselves on this. As a Family we believe in high standards and treating customers in the community as we would our own. Therefore an event where the partners, and families of the team can get involved is great. It’s nice to involve the ones who support us around the clock when we are busy working.’
This event takes place in less than a month now. October 8th. We have lots of support on the day and people to cheer us along, and even the team who are not running will be on the sidelines to keep us going. Im sure you will not miss us wearing our charity t-shirts.
‘Together we can conquer Stroke.’
We have set ourselves a target of £500.00 to raise and have a ‘just giving’ page set up where you can make any donation.

We would love you to follow us on our Facebook page and see how our training is going and what we are up to. Its fair to say that none of us are fitness gurus, and this is a hard challenge. The whole team have been working hard in their breaks, training and trying to get the miles in.
I think we are all a little apprehensive of 13.2 miles and if we will make it round before the sweeper van collects us…..
Its the taking part that counts, and all for a good cause as we keep telling each other.
